Ron Scalzo: Vocals, Piano
Brooklyn-born Ron Scalzo became the final piece of the Return To
Earth puzzle in early 2007 after completing his third solo album under
his electro-rock pseudonym Q*Ball. After various misadventures
with both major & independent record labels, and with three
critically-acclaimed albums under his belt, Scalzo, with the help of
longtime friend & Q*Ball producer Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, founded
his own indie label, Bald Freak Music, in late 2005, to put his destiny
in his own capable hands.
Scalzo's vocal style has been favorably compared to the likes
of Mike Patton & Trent Reznor. A devout music nerd and fan of
everything from '80s synthpop to '50s doo-wop, Scalzo is a self-taught
singer, honing his skills by singing along to Faith No More, Stone
Temple Pilots, & Nine Inch Nails albums during his teenage
years. After dabbling in piano, drums, and singing in various
electronic-bent acts, Return To Earth is Scalzo's first experience as a
frontman for a full-fledged rock band.
